Time Planning in my MAMBI Happy Planner

After watching some Periscopes and YouTube videos on time management and project planning from Alexis (aka Miss Trenchcoat from Strange and Charmed) and Lauryn Orr (aka Lauryn with Love) I have come up with these FREE printables to fit over two boxes in both the MAMBI Happy Planner and the Erin Condren Life Planner (vertical). I decided to only cover two boxes to give room to add To Do lists or similar.

I printed the file out on sticker paper, cut them out and stuck them in my Happy Planner.

I'm really happy with how they turned out. I will use them this week and see how I go. I'm sure as the week goes on my days will fill up more.

Have a look at my video for how I used them this week.

Productive Plannng

So you like the look of the decorated planner.... But how do you plan with all the stickers in the way?

I'm going to show you how I plan using decorative stickers and sticker kits while making it work for me and be functional.

The first thing I do is break down my page into groups. Top 3, cleaning, family/appointments and work.

Using header stickers or washi tape I label each section covering up the Morning, Afternoon and Evening headers. The Top 3 section at the top of the page only takes up half a box so I divide this box in two using headers. This second section is my cleaning section.

The Afternoon section becomes my To Do/Family/Appointments section. I change the header depending on the weeks/days needs. I use a lot of icon stickers here as well.

The Evening section is my 'work' section. This is where I write out a brief list of things I have to do to run my Etsy store and YouTube channel. I have a separate planner where I plan out my business in more detail and I will show you how I do that in another blog post.

Marking out these sections gives me the basis of my week plan.

The last section of my weekly spread is on the left hand side. I have stickers to help me with this section and they are...

Menu - I plan out my evening meals for the week ahead of time. I do this for a few reasons, one it's one less decision I have to make at the end of the day, two everyone knows what to expect and can help get things ready, three my son has Asperger's and lives by the menu plan and if things change then watch out, and four it helps with shopping and budgeting.

Medication - I need to check off if I have taken my medication or not as I often forget.

Hydrate - I like to track how much water/fluid I drink in a day. I live in a very hot climate so it is vital that I have enough fluid.

Daily tasks - I designed these stickers to save a bit of space and repetition in the weekly spread. You can list all the daily tasks that you need to track and mark them off each day. I use mine in particular to check off if I have applied my cream for my skin, emptied the kitty litter, done the dishes etc. you could even use it for tracking your social media tasks like posting on Instagram each day.

Now that you have all the functional portions in your planner you can look at making it prettier. I look for the days that I don't have much on and add my larger decorative stickers on those days.

I like to mark out my weekends with a pretty weekend banner and I will often cover up the entire weekend with washi tape before placing down my other stickers.

The easiest way (I think) to add decoration to your page is by adding a strip of washi to the edge of your pages. This can have a second function if you are using a ring binder system, by adding washi over the holes and then re-punching them, you will reinforce the holes.

Layering stickers can help make the harder to write on decorative stickers more functional.

One last piece of advice.... Have fun with it.

Keep on planning

It has been ages since I have done a challenge for Charms Creations but this months Sketch really inspired me. I used the August TSK kit from The Scrappery Kit Club and an older photo of my baby Amelia. (Process video to come soon-ish)

Stuck?! Sketches Sep 1 Challenge | A Day at the Pool

I love to scrapbook from sketches and this month there are a lot of challenge blogs that are offering sketches as their challenge. But one blog that I go to when I'm after a good sketch to sink my teeth into is Stuck Sketches and this month they have a great sketch to use and my new August Kit from The Scrappery Kit Club was perfect to use for this photo.
